Chris joined the military after he completed high school, with a goal to further his education and to do good in the world. He served for three years as a Communications Specialist but was injured in a training accident. Chris became homeless after leaving the military but was eventually able to move into independent housing for Veterans. Chris died in 2023 at the age of 31.
