Grief is a common, expected outcome of service. Grief can affect not only our feelings, but the way we think, behave and how we feel physically. Everyone grieves in their own way, so what helps one person, may not help another, even if they are grieving the same loss. It may take a while to find what approach to grief works for you. Grief is something that you find ways to live with, and changes over time.
Grief and depression aren’t the same. However, if we don’t look after our grief, it may become depression. If you have signs of depression or feel “stuck” in your grief, it is important to seek the support of a healthcare provider or counsellor immediately.
