How grief affects children and youth
Many people think of grief mostly as feelings of sadness. However, adults, children and youth experience a wide range of responses. Their grief response will be dependent on what they are grieving and, if they are grieving a death, their relationship with the person who died. The death of someone close, especially a parent, will be very different than grief from changing schools.
Like adults, grief can affect their body, feelings, thoughts, and behaviors.
